Frequently asked questions

Why does waist-to-hip ratio matter?
It reflects where you carry fat. Fat around the middle is more strongly linked to health risks than fat on the hips, so the ratio adds information BMI misses.
What is a healthy ratio?
The WHO considers risk higher above about 0.90 for men and 0.85 for women, though it is just one of several indicators.
